Muscat, Oman – March 20, 2025 – The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) today launched the highly anticipated "RABT" platform, marking a major step forward in the integration of Oman’s industrial and economic sectors. The platform was launched in strategic partnership with the General Secretariat of the Tender Board, under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.
Designed to connect industrial organizations, service providers, and business stakeholders within Oman’s ecosystem, the "RABT" platform aims to maximize the impact of localizing industries while linking them directly to government tenders and procurement. This initiative will not only support national products and services but also enhance their competitiveness within local markets.
The platform features over 5,000 industrial products and services offered by more than 300 factories and companies operating across Madayn's industrial cities. It provides a comprehensive database that plays a pivotal role in supporting government procurement, contributing to the growth of local businesses and the economy.
Eng. Sulaiman bin Salem Al Jabri, Project Manager for the "RABT" platform at the Industrial Innovation Academy, emphasized that the platform's development was the result of over two years of joint efforts, involving several government entities and private sector partners.
The development process unfolded in two key phases. The first phase included an extensive field survey of factories and companies in Madayn's industrial cities to identify local products and assess the percentage of raw materials used in manufacturing. The second phase focused on the platform’s creation and programming, developed in collaboration with a specialized company in interactive platform management to ensure its long-term efficiency and sustainability.
A standout feature of the "RABT" platform is its mechanism that requires companies awarded tenders to prioritize the purchase and supply of local products listed on the "mandatory list." This policy ensures national products are given preference, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting local industries.
Engineer Ghaleb bin Amer Al Hinai, Head of the National Office for Local Content at the General Secretariat of the Tender Board, highlighted that the "RABT" platform serves as a key tool for implementing local content policies in Oman. It helps streamline the application of regulations that support national products, while also allowing government agencies to monitor compliance and measure the platform’s positive impact on the economy. Moreover, the platform facilitates the analysis of supply chains for local products, providing valuable insights that identify new investment opportunities and strengthen interconnectivity across various industrial sectors. This, in turn, fosters sustainability and growth for Omani companies.
The platform's launch ceremony also featured the signing of agreements between winning contractors and local suppliers, further strengthening collaboration and boosting the national economy.
Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. Hemant Murkoth, Director & CEO, Mr. Hafidh Al Mahruqi, Director of Business Development, Mr. Suleyman Al Harthi, ICV Manager, Ms. Hafsa Al Sadi, Senior Team Lead Operations, and Mr. Ibrahim Al Sadi, Senior Executive Projects, representing Business Gateways International (BGI).
The "RABT" platform is set to play a crucial role in accelerating the growth of Oman’s industrial sector by providing a direct channel for suppliers and buyers to connect. This will not only enhance growth opportunities for local businesses but also contribute to the overall strengthening of the national economy. Furthermore, the platform aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040 by supporting economic diversification, boosting national productivity, and establishing policies that prioritize local products in government projects. This initiative ensures sustainable economic development and strengthens the Omani industrial sector.
